Thirteen libraries joined CRL since the beginning of the last fiscal year. Three libraries became members on July 1. Beloit College, Brandeis University, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, all joined as voting members.
CRL welcomed ten other member libraries since July 2015. Those include: Columbia College, Furman University, Hamilton College, Macalester College, New College of Florida, North Dakota State University, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the University of West Florida, Virginia Commonwealth University, and the American University of Beirut, a new global member. As of July 1 total membership in the CRL library community currently stood at 214.
CRL is the world’s largest and most enduring cooperative collection development community. Member libraries pool resources and expertise to identify, preserve, acquire, and share critical evidence and documentation for original research and evidence-based teaching. The recent additions to CRL membership reflect the importance of primary source materials at academic institutions where expectations for faculty and honors-level student research are high.
