The organizing committee of The New Shape of Sharing: Networks, Expertise, Information is pleased to share the report generated from this forum, which took place from January to April 2021. The Report details current key issues facing European collections as seen through a series of presentations and a poster session by librarians and members of the book trade from North America and Europe. At a final interactive meeting, attendees discussed practical ways to respond to the ideas and issues raised during the event.

The Center for Research Libraries and East View Information Services are pleased to announce Phase 2 of the Global Press Archive CRL Alliance, a successful academic-commercial partnership which makes available a substantial collection of digitized international newspapers.

CRL welcomed 270 attendees to the 2021 Annual Council of Voting Members Meeting. This four-hour meeting focused on governance, followed by a keynote address from Michael Strevens, NYU Philosophy Professor and author of, "The Knowledge Machine: How Irrationality Created Modern Science."

The Imperial Russian Newspapers collection, part of the CRL/East View Global Press Archive Charter Alliance, extends open access worldwide to critical sources for the study of the Russian Empire from the eighteenth through early twentieth centuries.

The Center for Research Libraries (CRL) has aligned with leading organizations committed to realizing an open scholarly information environment by signing OA2020’s Expression of Interest. With this declaration, CRL stands with its member signatories and libraries across the globe to call on all parties involved in scholarly publishing to “collaborate on a swift and efficient transition for the benefit of scholarship and society at large.”

The new position will leverage Abrams' expertise in digital curation and coalition building to advance CRL's collection programs and major collaborations focused on digital access to international resources for academic research and teaching.

The Technical Report Archive & Image Library (TRAIL) has released its Winter 2021 Newsletter, containing timely updates about the program.

The University System of Maryland and Affiliated Institutions (USMAI) Library Consortium has joined CRL under CRL's new consortia membership model, adding 17 academic and specialized libraries from 15 institutions to the CRL community.
