CRL is making available data on print materials being archived by five U.S. consortia: CRL; Five Colleges, Inc. (MA); the Orbis-Cascade Alliance (Pacific Northwest); the Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc.(PALCI); and the Triangle Research Libraries Network (North Carolina). These archives focus on titles from JSTOR, the American Chemical Society, the American Physical Society, and the American Institute of Physics. Users can now view data on current projects and archived holdings and download the dataset.

This preliminary holdings comparison information is part of CRL’s effort to inform and support existing print archiving projects, an effort endorsed by the project partners in February 2010. CRL and partners will also develop and publish model service agreements; information about archive practices and systems for disclosure of archive holdings; and a proposed business model to sustain these efforts.

For more information, please contact Lizanne Payne, CRL Print Archives Program Manager, at lpayne@crl.edu or 703-825-8796.
