This set, Series I of the Renaissance Man microfilm collection, contains the reconstructed library of John Dee. The reconstruction is based on Roberts & Watson’s John Dee’s Library Catalogue published by the Bibliographical Society, London, in 1990. Dee was a pioneer of scientific exploration in Renaissance England and an avid collector of contemporary and historic works of scientific value. Manuscripts and books include works by Roger Bacon, Aristotle, Euclid, and a host of other scholars in the Arabic, Hebrew, and Greek schools of thought.
