Center for Research Libraries members voted to acquire six new collective collections through the 2020 Purchase Proposal Program. The collections have a list price value of $121,624 (depending on the exchange rate). Once acquired, these materials will be owned collectively by the CRL community.

Through the CRL Purchase Proposal Program, CRL member libraries nominate collections too costly for individual institutions to acquire and not readily accessible from other sources. Participation in this collective program is one of the many benefits of CRL membership.

Items approved for purchase include: L’Osservatore Romano (1992-2020) the daily newspaper published in Vatican City covers news and events of the Catholic Church on every continent, Vogue (Paris) 1988-2002, a fashion-centered magazine, which reflects and influences the French idea and image of couture and beauty, art and photography, and 晋商史料集成 Jin shang shi liao ji cheng which reproduces archival records of the Shanxi (or Jin) merchants during the Ming (1368 to 1644) and Qing (1644-1912) dynasties in China.
