CRL Board Chair Scott Waugh (University of California, Los Angeles) confirmed the appointment of three new members to CRL's Collections and Services Policy Committee (CSPC), effective July 2016. They are:
- Debra Bucher, Assistant Director of the Library for Collection Development and Research Services, Vassar College Libraries
- Linda Teresa Di Biase, Ebook and Collaborative Collections Strategy Librarian, University of Washington Libraries
- David Magier, Associate University Librarian for Collection Development, Princeton University Library
CSPC Chair Martha Hruska (University of California, San Diego) notes: "These individuals represent a broad cross-section of the CRL membership, with a mix of critical talent and experience that will help inform the CSPC's work. We are pleased to add their voices to the strategic direction of CRL."
Immediate past representatives exiting the committee are Bryan Skib (University of Michigan), who served two full terms on the committee; and Bradley Schaffner (Carleton College), who was recently elected to CRL's Board of Directors.
The CSPC is a major component of CRL governance, reporting directly to and advising the CRL Board of Directors on issues pertaining to collections, management of content, and related services. CSPC shapes CRL collection-related policies and priorities, and helps set new CRL directions and strategies. The new committee members' terms of office is three years (2016–19).
