CRL and the NorthEast Research Libraries Consortium (NERL) have agreed to renew their partnership, formed in 2013 when the NERL program moved from Yale University Libraries to CRL. NERL coordinates and negotiates licensing terms and prices for electronic resource purchases and subscriptions on behalf of 29 member academic research libraries and approximately 80 affiliates. Since NERL came under the CRL umbrella in 2013, its membership has grown and its licensing footprint has increased.
Speaking on behalf of NERL’s Executive Committee, NERL Board of Directors chair Jay Schafer of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, said, “The initial Cooperative Agreement with CRL has been extremely successful in making the transition from our historical relationship with Yale University, while maintaining the collaborative spirit that has been a hallmark of NERL since its inception. We are very pleased to extend NERL's relationship with CRL for another three years and look forward to fostering and supporting the educational and research missions of our member institutions.” You can find the announcement of NERL's move to CRL in 2013 here.
