While CRL's cooperative collection-building efforts were born in the print era, today CRL also helps expand online access to primary source content for researchers at member libraries. These efforts include in-house digitization of collections; partnerships with other organizations to identify and digitize significant primary-source materials; and negotiating terms for persistent access to licensed resources.

CRL digitizes and makes available to scholars materials from CRL collections to support research and teaching in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences.
CRL Licensing
On behalf of member libraries, CRL negotiates favorable terms for the purchase of (or subscription to) major electronic resources. See current and prospective offers in CRL's eDesiderata.
Tools and Resources for Licensing
CRL supports libraries' informed investment in commercially available databases through a variety of tools and resources.
