CRL member libraries invest heavily in print and digital resources to support advanced research and teaching. For these libraries, building and maintaining their own physical collections and supporting print archives and digital repositories are both mission-critical activities. CRL gathers and analyzes data to inform those activities, and provides opportunities for the sharing of expertise and best practices. This is motivated by the belief that informed investment and decision-making by libraries will ensure the persistence and integrity of critical evidence and documentation.
Digital Preservation
CRL audits, assesses and evaluates digital repositories, archives and other services that maintain and preserve digital content of interest to the CRL community.
Print Preservation
CRL supports cooperative print archiving initiatives and projects undertaken at the local, regional, and national levels by identifying, monitoring, and evaluating those efforts, and by registering their archived holdings.
