Civilian Conservation Corps camp papers.

GUIDE: Center for Research Libraries (U.S.) The Civilian Conservation Corps camp papers : a guide. D-18363 This is an extensive collection of newspapers written and issued at the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camps. At its peak in 1935, the CCC had 2,600 companies. Many of the companies offered continuing education courses in journalism and English, and many issued newsletters or newspapers describing local news stories, containing fiction, poetry and art, and chronicling the work and recreational activities of the men. The Center's collection of these materials is the collocation of a deposit from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the archival file of the U.S. Department of the Interior. The Center has microfilmed all of its holdings in order to preserve the collection. Larger format titles are on the microfilm reels. A searchable database of the titles in the collection is avalable.
